³The Lord is a warrior;^(A)
the Lord is his name.^(B)
4Pharaoh’s chariots and his army^(C)
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.^[a]
5The deep waters^(D) have covered them;
they sank to the depths like a stone.^(E)
6Your right hand,^(F) Lord,
was majestic in power.
Your right hand,^(G) Lord,
shattered^(H) the enemy.

⁷“In the greatness of your majesty^(I)
you threw down those who opposed you.
You unleashed your burning anger;^(J)
it consumed^(K) them like stubble.
⁸By the blast of your nostrils^(L)
the waters piled up.^(M)
The surging waters stood up like a wall;^(N)
the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.^(O)
9The enemy boasted,
‘I will pursue,^(P) I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils;^(Q)
I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword
and my hand will destroy them.’
¹⁰But you blew with your breath,^(R)
and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead
in the mighty waters.^(S)
11Who among the gods
is like you,^(T) Lord?
Who is like you—
majestic in holiness,^(U)
awesome in glory,^(V)
working wonders?^(W)

¹²“You stretch out^(X) your right hand,
and the earth swallows your enemies.^(Y)
13In your unfailing love you will lead^(Z)
the people you have redeemed.^(AA)
In your strength you will guide them
to your holy dwelling.^(AB)
14The nations will hear and tremble;^(AC)
anguish^(AD) will grip the people of Philistia.^(AE)
15The chiefs^(AF) of Edom^(AG) will be terrified,
the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling,^(AH)
the people^[b] of Canaan will melt^(AI) away;
¹⁶terror^(AJ) and dread will fall on them.
By the power of your arm
they will be as still as a stone^(AK)—
until your people pass by, Lord,
until the people you bought^[c](AL) pass by.^(AM)
17You will bring^(AN) them in and plant^(AO) them
on the mountain^(AP) of your inheritance—
the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling,^(AQ)
the sanctuary,^(AR) Lord, your hands established.
