A diamond price calculator is a convenient online tool that helps you estimate the value or cost of a diamond based on its key attributes, such as carat weight, cut, color, and clarity. By inputting these specific details, the calculator provides an approximate price range for the diamond, serving as a useful benchmark when shopping or selling. Our calculator is generally free to use and can offer insights into how different factors affect the diamond’s overall value.
Pick a diamond shape, color, clarity, cut grade, and fluorescence and you’ll get the minimum, average, and maximum price points. Then just browse through the samples picked by the calculator.

The Four C’s (Plus a Bonus one) and how we Determine Diamond Prices
Once you’ve settled on a diamond shape, which is a matter of personal preference, it’s time to focus on quality. Diamond prices are calculated based off of their characteristics. These are commonly referred to as the 4 C’s: Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat. I will add a bonus ‘C’: Certificate.
Color: The diamond color scale goes from D – Z. D color diamonds are perfectly clear and diamonds appear to gain a yellow tint as you move further down the scale. We recommend purchasing diamonds in the G-J color ranges. | Clarity: Diamond clarity refers to the blemishes and imperfections found within the diamond. The scale goes from FL (flawless) to I4 (included). We recommend finding an eye-clean diamond in the VS2 – SI2 range. |
Cut: Cut refers to the proportions and dimensions of the diamond. The better the cut, the more fire and brilliance there will be. | Carat: Carat is the weight measurement we use for diamonds. One carat equals 0.20 grams. |
Certificate: Often overlooked, a certificate from an independent lab is very important. Color and clarity grades, which have a major impact on the price of a diamond, are subjective. A GIA certificate (the most trusted lab) will ensure you are getting the qualities the seller is claiming the diamond to be. |
