It is effective against a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms for up to 30 days.

What are the side effects of Clavacillin (Amoxicillin Trihydrate and Clavulanate Potassium) Tablet?
When administered with caution, this medication is believed to be safe for use in pregnant animals. Gastrointestinal upset could occur, but administering with a meal typically reduces signs. Signs of gastrointestinal upset include nausea, decrease in appetite, vomiting, or diarrhea. Rare allergic reactions are possible. If your pet show signs of an allergic reaction, withdraw use and pursue emergency veterinary treatment. Signs include irregular breathing, rash, fever, hives, scratching, puffiness, facial swelling. Notify your veterinarian if your pet shows any signs of a side effect.
What special precautions are there?
- Animals with a history of allergies to cephalosporin or penicillin should not be given this medication. If an allergic reaction occurs, administer epinephrine and/or steroids.
- This product has not been proven safe for use in pregnant or breeding animals.

Overview
- Always follow your veterinarian's directions in administering this and any medication.
- For cats, the recommended dosage is 1mL (62.5mg) twice daily. Dermatitis, cellulitis, abscesses, and other soft tissue and skin infections should receive 5 to 7 days of treatment, or should be treated until 48 hours after the disappearance of all symptoms. Never treat for more than 30 days. If you do not see a response after treating your cat for 3 days, withdraw use and allow your veterinarian to re-evaluate the diagnosis and case. Urinary tract infections may need to be treated for 10 to 14 days, or potentially longer. Never treat for more than 30 days.
- For cats, the recommended dosage is 1mL (6.25mg) for every 10 pounds of body weight twice daily. Periodontal infections, juvenile pyoderma, superficial pyoderma, wounds, cellulitis, abscesses, and other soft tissue and skin infections should receive 5 to 7 days of treatment, or should be treated until 48 hours after the disappearance of all symptoms. Never treat for more than 30 days. If you do not see a response after treating your dog for 5 days, withdraw use and allow your veterinarian to re-evaluate the diagnosis and case. Deep pyoderma may need to be treated for up to 21 days. Never treat for more than 30 days.
